  In accordance with WAC 131-12-010 and Edmonds College policy, students are admitted only if they are older than age 17, or they have a high school diploma, or GED. Exceptions are made for students participating in special state approved enrollment option programs such as Running Start or EdCAP. Exceptions are made for other students as indicated below.
If your student is age 16 or 17, complete the following steps:
  1. Complete this request form.
  2. Complete the School District Enrollment Release form, or obtain a form/letter from the high school. This form must be newly completed and submitted each quarter your student enrolls in classes.
    • If you homeschool your student, do not complete this step. Please provide a copy of the documentation you submitted to the state or the district indicating your intent to homeschool your child.
  3. Complete the college High School Student Application process.
  4. Submit the paperwork as a completed packet. Complete these steps by the first day of the quarter in which your student wishes to enroll.
If your student is under age 16, exceptions are made on a case by case basis by completing the following steps:
  1. Complete steps 1 and 2 listed above.
  2. Write a brief letter describing the reason you feel an exception should be made.
  3. Set up an appointment for you and your student to meet with the Director of Admissions.
    • Email admissions@edmonds.edu for an appointment.
  4. Bring all your paperwork, including a completed High School Student Application to your appointment.
  5. Complete these steps by the first day of the quarter in which your student wishes to enroll.
  6. Bring in a current unofficial transcript.
I acknowledge that Edmonds College:
  • does not require instructors to monitor student attendance,
  • complies with federal law in granting access to student records, which means parents are not automatically given access to their child´s academic records,
  • does not provide any special monitoring or guardianship for any of its students,
  • has a large student population from a variety of backgrounds, cultures, and life experiences, including criminal activities,
  • may expose students to a variety of ideas, philosophies, and material that some may find offensive and may not deem suitable for younger students,
  • makes no special allowances or accommodations to students because of their age
